Vimala Raman finally accepts Bikini

The biggest curse of the film industry is image. If an actress acts as a homely girl and if it succeeds, then only homely characters knock her door. If she turns out well in glamour, only glamour opportunities deluge her. Based on the success of a celebrity’s character in a film, the industry brands an image on the celebrity. Only a few could escape from such image. You know very well how far Priyamani went on to show off her body in ‘Drona’ to kill the best performer image stamped on her by the film ‘Paruthi Veeran’

After her first flop ‘Poi’ in Tamil in 2006, Sydney Beauty Vimala Raman got the chance to act in Tamil only in 2008 in ‘Raman Thediya Seethai’ which was a moderate hit. Though her character in that film was appreciated by the audience, it stamped a homely girl image on Vimala Raman. In January 2009, she openly stated that she is ready to act in glamour roles too but because of her image nothing turned out. Then she started concentrating in Malayalam and Telugu movies. Her present projects are ‘Aptha Rakshaka’ in Kannada opposite Vishnu Vardhan and ‘Chukkalanti Ammai Chakkanaina Abbai’ in Telugu opposite Tharun.

The latest news is producer and director of ‘Chukkalanti Ammai Chakkanaina Abbai’ compelled Vimala Raman to act in Swim Suit in a few scenes. Initially she acted wearing a thin see-through coat above the swim suit but it did not give the sex appeal the producer expected. Then, she discarded the coat and acted with swim suit alone. Her swim suit appearance made the producer and director go swooned! My personal definition of Bikini is – What it reveals is interesting but what it conceals is vital. That's it, baby, if you've got it, flaunt it!
