Lakshmi Rai's New Avatar!

There is only one thing CONSTANT in the World is CHANGE. A success theory of this decade fails to give fruits in the next decade because theories keep on changing from time to time. Earlier we were taught ‘Hard work Pays’. Now the modern gurus say ‘Smart work Pays’. Does this Smartness theory always pays to those who are adopting it is a million dollar question.

The Belgaum Beauty Lakshmi Rai is the one who believes this concept. She adopts various techniques to be in the spotlights of media and general public. It is her techniques that change from time to time keeps her alive in Cinema. Otherwise, even after giving 6 Mega Flops viz. Karka Kasadara, Kundakka Mandakka, Nenjai Thodu, Dharmapuri, Vellithirai, Ragasiya Snegithane, she could not have continued in the race as heroine. Her portrayal of her role as Aarthi in the film Dhaam Dhoom is the one widely appreciated by the audience. You name a technique; she would have adopted it already! .....more

Sneha - Simbu Relationship - Just Timepass?

British Business Writer Godfrey Golzen said “You ought to get paid more when you were young enough to enjoy it”. While everybody’s aim is to adhere to that quote, ‘Smiling Sensation’ Sneha is right on the target!

‘Smiling Queen’ Sneha is only 27! (Born on October 12, 1981). But because of her homely look, she has been offered only family oriented subjects and young lover roles with meager glamour. After Devayani has gone to mega serials and Jothika quitting cinema after marriage, Sneha became the only eligible actress for homely subjects. When she wanted to break her homely image by her glamorous acting in ‘Chinna’, it failed. She has been seen wearing figure-hugging glitzy dresses in public functions recent days. When she was asked about her new dressing style, she said ‘I am a young girl. I should wear this kind of dress only at this age’. It is not only her dressing style changed but also her attitude towards life......more

Why Namitha hates Story Discussion Session?

On hearing the name Namitha boys start salivating and they even go swooning when they ogle her on the screen. They have seen her so many times on screen disrobing her clothes but their thirst is not over yet.

Normally heroines will be narrated story of the film and their role in it in short while booking them. Thereafter, a super deluxe suite will be booked in a five star hotel to develop the story line and decide the screenplay. This is called ‘Story Discussion Session’ in which director, producer, hero and heroine of the film participate ......more

Simran's Bold Decision

Unlike other professions, remuneration of actresses will become scanty when they grow older. Every actress knows the fact that her tenure in cinema is only for a short period of time till the fortune is in her favour and the audience loves her. So, they try to make the most out of it within this short span and they go to any extent to achieve it.

I am confident that nobody will deny the fact that Simran only deserves to be described by the term

Super Brain Yoga = 'Thoppukaranam'

When I was surfing the net recently, my friend TRSMD sent the following link with a comment that now you can put ‘Thoppukaranam’ in a scientific way:

The video brought a big grin in my face and I subsequently read the following article in Deccan Chronicle:

http://www.dc-epaper.com/DC/DCC/2009/03/08/ArticleHtmls/08_03_2009_001_025.shtml?Mode=0

Actually what I saw in the video was exactly resembling the ‘Thoppukaranam’ (in Tamil) which we perform in front of ‘Lord Ganesha’ holding the ears in devotion and doing the sit-ups. Actually we were not taught by our parents as to why we are doing that. This was part of chastisement for kids in schools which is recently abandoned. Centuries ago, our ancestors devised these customs and rituals as a part of worshipping God knowing exactly what it is. The so called rationalists and atheists ridiculed these traditional doctrines, customs and rituals of Hindus telling that there is no logical reason behind these rituals and advising us to discard it. Now, a westerner has patented your traditional ritual as his own discovery and named it as Super Brain Yoga. You would have seen foreigners capturing snaps and videos of Hindu Idols and our way of worshipping Gods in all Hindu Temples. You would have thought that they are capturing the videos just to know our culture and tradition. But they are analyzing our traditional doctrines, customs and rituals, finding out the profound truth behind it and just encashing it. Our rationalists and atheists will get publishing rights from this patent holder, publish the books in all Indian languages and sell it. They even practice this Yoga as there is a logical reason they asked for. Our Hindu Leaders and Priests keep on complaining that Hindu people below poverty line are converted as Christians giving them money, education and medical help. You should think why they are converting? You have not conveyed them about the rich cultural and traditional heritage of Hinduism and the profound truth behind it.

As per 1989 data, globally, churches spend 145 billion dollars, command four million full time workers, run 13,000 libraries, publish 22,000 periodicals and four billion tracts a year, operate 1,890 radio and TV stations. There are a quarter million foreign
missionaries, over 400 institutions to train them.

Leave their intention; it is good or bad, they are taking serious efforts for revealing the mass about Christianism. What our priests do? They just complain about mass conversion and say Hinduism is under threat! Get the help of good patrons and go to the public, create awareness among them and publish periodicals in simple language so that even a layman can understand about greatness of Hinduism. Stop complaining, Go and Save the remaining traditional doctrines, customs and rituals before a westerner patents it. It is apt to remember here what Swami Vivekananda taught us: Arise, Awake, Stop Not till the goal is reached.

Ragasiya - Make hay while the sun shines!

‘Tough times never last but tough people do’ is the title of a famous book by Robert H. Schuller. Yes. It is tough time for full-time glamour artists. They face fierce competition from heroines. Earlier when heroines were singing duets with heroes and handling emotional scenes, glamour artists used to spice up the films with their glamourous appearance in cameo roles besides performing dance in item songs. Now top heroines like Namitha, Nayanthara, Trisha, Priyamani, Shreya, etc are setting fire on silver screen with their sizzling appearances. Especially Nymphet Namitha accepts cameo roles in Tamil films like Pandi, Perumal, Thee, etc and appears in item songs also.

Mumbai based Ragasiya made her debut in Tamil Cinema with the block buster song ‘Chirichi Chirichi Vantha Seena Thaana Doi’ in Vasool Raja MBBS. That song induced everybody (from kids to elders) to dance for it and enjoyed overwhelming response. Thereafter she performed dance in an item song in Dishyum. She appeared with yesteryear make-up in a song sequence in the film Periyar. She acted as an investigative journalist in ‘Indra Vizha’ which is expected to hit silver screen soon and she danced with hero of that film Srikanth for a remix song. After Indra Vizha, she was expecting same kind of offers (cameo role + item song offers) from Kollywood but the opportunities are not forthcoming. Instead, she faced severe competition from Mumaith Khan, Malavika, Tejashree, Namitha, etc. So, she has decided to accept item song offers again. She is doing item song in the upcoming film ‘Vaigai’ and in one more tamil film. Since Mumaith Khan is busy as heroine with the bi-lingual film ‘Machakanni’ and Tejashree is expecting challenging roles and deciding to accept offers only after the release of ‘Brahma Deva’, it is good decision on the part of Ragasiya to fill-up the vacuum and grab item song offers before it goes to her opponents.

With her decision she made it clear that ‘When Survival becomes the essence No Sentiments’. Let her make hay while the sun shines!

Tejashree Yearning for Challenging Roles

15 years ago, most of the Tamil films were produced with meager glamour giving much importance to family sentiments, friendship, love, etc to attract female audiences because females were the major audiences at that time. To attract guys, producers and directors used to engage glamour artists like Jeyamalini, Silk Smitha, Anuradha, Disco Santhi, Kuyili, etc in cameo roles. These glamour artists show their cleavage and navel besides performing an item dance. After the arrival of Mega Serials in Satellite TVs, teenage boys and girls have become the target audiences for Tamil films released now-a-days. So, the concept and colour of Tamil Cinema changed upside down. Only fresh n cute faces with ravishing anatomies find their place in Tamil Cinema. Their curves and curls should be in the right place and they should be prepared to act in extremely hot scenes. Lip Locks have become order of the day.

Tejashree, native of Nasik, Maharashtra, is a gung ho candidate in Tamil Cinema who possesses all the qualities that a heroine needs. She became popular with the song ‘Chinna Veeda Varattuma’ in Ottran. Thereafter she acted in several double heroine subjects viz. Madurey, Imsai Arasan 23rd Pulikesi, Veeraappu, Arya, Something Something, Kalvanin Kaadhali. She acted as female lead in Nadigai and Antha Naal Gnabagam. She performed item songs also now and then. Her seductive song in Athu Oru Kana Kaalam is very popular one. Her most sought after film ‘Brahmadeva’ in which she acted as heroine is yet to be released. In the meantime, producers and directors are approaching her with item dance offer in their film even though she expressed clearly that she does not want to perform item dances further and she is expecting heroine offers. She is unhappy as she is not getting good roles to prove her talent. So, she decided to accept offers only after the release of Brahmadeva.

She is young, cute, curvy, sizzling, talented yet unlucky to get good offers. It is very apt to remember here what our MKG (Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi) told – “Patience always pays”

Nayanthara's Love with Prabhu Deva heading to Climax

“There’s never smoke without fire” is a famous proverb. Gossip does not arise on its own. If you follow the gossip thread quite closely you can easily catch the other end. To your surprise, the personality who is gossiped may be the creator of that gossip.

Coming to the point, choreographer-turned-actor-turned-director Prabhu Deva is now in gossips with Nayanthara. It is said that a pristine ‘friendship’ has been developed between Prabhu Deva and Nayanthara during the shooting of ‘Villu’. The friendship bond strengthened deeply towards the end of that project and now they both are in love with each other. It is for that reason Prabhu Deva agreed to choreograph dance sequence for Malayalam film ‘Bodyguard’ in which Nayanthara is doing the female lead role. But Prabhu Deva refused this gossip last week and stated that he is doing choreography on the compulsion of his friend director Siddhique. Nayanthara also denied this and stated that it is just a normal friendship in profession. But a famous investigative journal in its current issue revealed that Prabhu Deva has initiated steps to divorce his love-married wife Ramlat and marry Nayanthara soon. An evening Tamil e-paper in today’s issue stated that Nayanthara is pressurizing Prabhu Deva to marry her soon.

Human mind is a complex creature. Nobody knows how deep it goes especially for females it runs even deeper. There is no yardstick still invented to measure its depth and reach to the fact available at the bottom of the mind. Earlier Simran, when she was in her peak of profession, was gossiped with Raju Sundaram and Kamal but she married Deepak. Kushboo gossiped strongly with Prabhu but married Sundar.C. The secret always comes out in the end like entry of Policemen happen in the end scene of Tamil Cinema. Till such time, it is just matter of time to wait for and remember the proverb “The delicious story is ripe to tell to the intimate friend”

Kaadhal Sandhya - Fortune is in her favour

Sandhya, born in Kerala but brought up in Chennai, was studying 9th Standard in Vidyodaya School and her father used to drop her and pick up her at school daily. It was on one such day she was spotted by Balaji Sakthivel who offered her the female lead role in Kaadhal, a critically acclaimed Tamil love story (This role was initially offered to Gopika but due to date problems she did not do).

After the super-duper hit of Kaadhal in 2004, she acted in Dishyum (2006), Vallavan (2006), Koodal Nagar (2007), Kannamoochi Yenada (2007), Thoondil (2008). Her last film ‘Mahesh, Saranya Matrum Palar’ (2008) did not fare well in box office. During the filming of Kannamoochi Yenada and after that also there was a gossip that she has fallen in love with hero of the film Prithviraj (Ofcourse whoever acted with Prithviraj like Bhavana, Priyamani, Padmapriya, etc. were in gossips that they have fallen in love with him). That gossip was roaming around Kollywood for sometime but thereafter vanished. It is for that reason Sandhya’s father did not agree to give her call sheet for a new Malayalam film offered to her recently opposite Prithviraj. But she suppressed this fact and revealed the Press that she could not allocate her call sheet due to non-availability of date.

After a few films, she became slightly obese and looked plump. So, directors and heroes were reluctant to book her in their films. At this juncture, she got chance to act in ‘Aaptha Rakshaka’ (Kannada), Part II of ‘Aaptha Mithra’ which was released as ‘Chandramukhi’ in Tamil remake. After this opportunity the fortune is in her favour. She is doing a negative role in ‘Nootrukku Nooru’, a Tamil to Tamil remake film. She has sung two songs in her Tamil film ‘Manjal Veiyil’ to be released this year. She is also booked for ‘Irumbu Kottai Murattu Singam’ opposite Ragava Lawrence along with two other heroines Padmapriya and Lakshmi Roy. Let’s wish her good luck continues!

Roja Video - Real or Cheap Politics?

There is only one field in India which does not require any qualification like Education, Age limit, background etc. Those who are shameless, ticklish and bold enough to face any kind of criticism are the one best suited for this field. That’s why it is called Ditch (gutter). Yes my friend, I am talking about Politics. There are several types of politics – cheap politics, dirty politics, cunning politics, etc.

Actress Roja, native of Chittoor, Andhra, started her carrier in Tamil cinema with the film ‘Semparuthi’ (1992) directed by R.K.Selvamani who later married her. Her first film itself was a blockbuster. Then she acted with leading heroes viz. Rajnikanth, Arjun, Vijaykanth, Sarathkumar, Satyaraj, Karthik, Prabhu, Nepolean, Prabu Deva, Mamooty, etc. She won lot of accolades for her character role in the film ‘Unnidathil Ennai Koduthen’ (1998) directed by Vikraman. She acted in more than 100 films. Her 100th movie ‘Pottu Amman’ was a super hit.

Roja entered in active politics by joining Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and became State Leader for Womens’ Wing in TDP. She is contesting in Chandragiri Legislative Assembly in Chittoor District. Her hurricane campaign yielded her good name in her own party and also among people in the whole state. It is said that her nude video is circulated through cable TV in Andhra Pradesh last week to defame her. This nude video has been screened repeatedly through Cable TV particularly in the areas viz. Vaizag, Vijayawada, Vijayanagar, Amalapuram, Srikakulam. In that video, Roja is seen nude having sexual intercourse with some guys and she is swimming nakedly in a swimming pool. This video runs for 5 minutes and it is now being circulated through MMS also in Andhra. This video created uproar and pandemonium in AP Politics. It is said that some mischief-makers attached Roja’s face through morphing in a nude lady’s body which resembles Roja. Both Chandra Babu and his party men denied that the nude lady seen in video is not Roja and it is cheap politics from the opposition. Roja told that nobody can put an end to her political carrier by such treacherous plans and she is going to lodge a complaint about this in Election Commission. Roja is a PG (Master of Political Science) from Nagarjuna University and she will definitely overcome this problem quite easily.

All about Neetu Chandra @ Nneetu Chandra

Recently I read in a leading tamil e-paper that ‘Yaavarum Nalam’ fame Nneetu Chandra has decided to flaunt her well-endowed body (actually they used the term ‘semi-naked’ in e-paper) in her next film. Her well-wishers adviced to show off her body like Mallika Sherawat does to become leading heroine and she decided to execute their advice. The news created curiosity in my mind and I digged more details about her.

Nneetu Chandra was born in Patna, Bihar. She studied at Nortre Dame Academy in Patna and graduated from IP College in Delhi. Nneetu appeared in dozens of ads before entering the Indian film industry. She debuted in a glamorous role in ‘Garam Masala’ (2005) along with John Abraham and Akshay Kumar. Then she did Godavari(Telugu; 2006), Traffic Signal (2007), ‘One Two Three’ (2008), ‘Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye’ (2008), Satyameva Jayate(Telugu; 2009) and Yaavarum Nalam & 13B(2009). ‘Khushar Prasad Ka Bhoot’ directed by Gary Garewal and ‘Mumbai Cutting' directed by Rahul Dholakia are her current projects. She did an Item Number in ‘Summer 2007’ which was released in 2008.

After seeing her excellent performance in 'Traffic Signal'', a National Award winning film, Director Bala tried her for his recently released film 'Naan Kadavul'. But during the screen test, Bala felt that she looks like a north indian girl. He wanted a south indian face and he selected Pooja. So Neetu could not get that chance.

Nneetu is a black belt holder in Taekwondo, a Korean martial art. She represented India in two different games which are very rare - International Taekwondo Championship at Hong Kong in 1996 and in World Korfball Championship in 1995 at New Delhi. She is a national games Silver Medal winner in Taekwondo. She is also a vivid Basketball player. She is a trained Kathak dancer. She is D’damas Jewellery brand ambassador.

Her featuring in Stardust in a stunning bikini shoot and dare-bare shoot for Maxim magazine reveals her self-confidence. Catch here what she said about the shoots in her own words “I am someone who doesn’t believe in the concept of ‘Size Zero’. I believe that for a woman, her curves and curls should be in the right place. I have been getting calls appreciating my approach towards the shoot. Of course, people have found me quite sensuous and hot.” About doing Item Numbers she said “I think item numbers are hyped negatively. But even then, I'm looking forward to doing them".

It is clear that she is ready to shed her girl-next-door image and ready to flaunt her voluptuous assets. Movie buffs! Be ready to catch her in her next film and enjoy!

Tamil Cinema Producers - Journey towards unknown destiny

Think before you leap is a famous proverb. Because Success is not a destination, it is a continuous journey. When all your endeavours result in success you have to be very cautious. Otherwise whatever earned through decades of hard work may just vanish in one or two careless attempts thinking overconfidently that whatever we do will result in success alone. There are several personalities to quote under this category. Famous Veteran actors Chandrababu, Asokan, VK Ramasamy, PS Veerappa, TR Mahalingam, Kannaamba, Pandaribai, etc who produced movies on their own when they were in the peak of their profession resulting in loss, debt and finally they lost chances for acting also. Normally Chartered Accountants are considered as Masters of Finance but GV who gave several good films under the banner GV Films (P) Ltd could not manage his own debt and you know his ending. The personality recently added to this unfortunate list is a famous producer who gave good films viz. Indian, Natpukkaga, Kadhalar Dhinam, Kushi, Run, Dhool, Gilli, 7G Rainbow Colony, Sivakasi, etc. He has been facing tough time from 2005 because his movies Sukran, Ponniyin Selvan, Kedi, Dharmapuri were all failures. The most expected film under his production Bheema starring Vikram and Trisha and directed by Lingusamy released in 2007 did not fare well in the box office. Moreover the production of movies for his two sons (one is an actor & another is a director) resulted in loss. It is said that he is disposing all his assets to settle the debts and vacating Chennai to settle in Andhra, his native.

Due to the global recession and increasing inflation rate which in turn inflating the cost of production, the producers’ council appealed actors and actresses to cut-down their remuneration. But there is no response from actors for the plea. Arya raised his salary to 3 Crores after Naan Kadavul. Tamannaah is demanding 60 Lakhs per film after the moderate hit of her film Padikkathavan (she is demanding Rs.10,500/- per day separately as remuneration for his Make-up man, Hair Dresser, Touch-up boy) while Sameera Reddy is asking 60 to 75 Lakhs per film even though she does not have any offer in bollywood. Budding actress Saranya is demanding 15 Lakhs after the success of Vennila Kabadai Kuzhu. But, both producers and actors point of view is correct in their own respect. Producers come forward to produce film for making huge profits knowing that they are gambling. So they cannot blame actors and actresses because their tenure in cinema is only for a short period of time. In that short period, they have to earn as much as they can. But one has to know his own limit for greediness otherwise he will join the list mentioned above.
